Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Wireless gas sensor implemented through joint conduction polarization mechanism for room temperature ppb level triethylamine detection
The characterization of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) plays a crucial role in environmental diagnostics, biomedical and food science. For example, microbial reactions between microorganisms and food can produce various VOC biomarkers, paving the way for promising methods to quantify food freshness. Triethylamine (TEA) is one of the most representative biomarkers, and its concentration increases as protein degradation progresses during meat spoilage. However, achieving high-sensitivity real-time monitoring of TEA remains a huge challenge, limiting personalized food freshness recognition.

Sensors: the "vanguard" of geological hazard monitoring
Geological disasters, such as landslides, mudslides, earthquakes, etc., often occur suddenly and bring heavy blows to human society. These disasters not only consume lives and destroy homes, but also cause serious damage to infrastructure and hinder socio-economic development. In order to effectively prevent geological disasters and reduce their losses, accurate monitoring is crucial, and sensors play an irreplaceable key role in it.

Korea Institute of Materials Science and Technology: Reducing Alcohol Inhibition of Oxide Chemical Resistors, Double Layer Sensor with HZSM-5 Zeolite Coating
This work proposes a simple and universal strategy, which involves coating an acidic protonated ZSM-5 (HZSM-5) coating layer to eliminate ethanol inhibition without affecting the inherent sensing performance. The HZSM-5 coating deposited on the oxide sensor exhibits excellent detection performance. Even at trace concentrations, formaldehyde (HCHO) can have harmful effects on human health. It can effectively eliminate ethanol interference without changing the response or response time of HCHO.
